Today we're diving into the fiery world of Cajun cuisine with this down-and-dirty recipe for Cajun Jambalaya. I chose this recipe because I'm sick and tired of all those basic, bland-ass dishes out there. It's time to spice things up and slap your taste buds awake with this bold and badass jambalaya.
Listen up, you fucking culinary cowards! I'm so sick of seeing people half-ass their cooking like they're scared of flavor. Cooking is supposed to be an adventure, not a fucking walk in the park. So stop being a wimpy little twat and get ready to unleash the beast with this Cajun Jambalaya recipe.
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 pound chicken, diced
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 3 cups chicken broth
- Cajun seasoning, to taste
- Hot sauce, for extra kick (optional but why the hell wouldn't you?)
- Salt and pepper, to season like you actually give a damn
- Heat up a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat like you mean it.
- Toss in the chopped onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Sauté that shit until the veggies start to soften and your kitchen smells like heaven's own kitchen.
- Add the andouille sausage and chicken to the pot. Cook until the meat is browned and your mouth is watering uncontrollably.
- Stir in the rice, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, hot sauce (because you're not a wimp), salt, and pepper. Bring it all to a boil like a fucking boss.
- Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the rice is cooked and has soaked up all those flavor bombs like a sponge in a sea of awesomeness.
- Give it a final taste test and adjust the seasoning if needed. Then serve that Cajun masterpiece up hot and steaming like you're serving justice on a plate.
What the hell are you waiting for, you lazy shit?! Get off your ass and start cooking this Cajun Jambalaya before I come over and do it for you!
xoxo
